her mother tells her to put aside such whims, Coco purchases a magic book from a
mysterious seller , and manages to unlock the secret behind casting magic! Unfortunately, her explorations soon turn disastrous, prompting a rescue by the
Pointed Cap witch,
Qifrey . Coco agrees to becomes an apprentice at
Qifrey's atelier to learn more about magic in hopes of reversing her grave mistake.

First Pentagram Test Arc

Coco begins her magical studies, and must soon face her first
trial on her path to becoming a full-fledged witch:
The Consent of the Crown . All alone, and with her magic casting

River Rescue Arc

Outsider arrives at the atelier desperately requesting aid after his caravan is washed away. Wishing to prove herself, Agott begs to assist in the rescue mission. She and Coco must get creative to cast magic without being directly observed in order to rescue a young boy named
Custas . Unfortunately, their flashy spells attract the Knights Moralis who suspect Coco of using forbidden magic and threaten to erase her memories!

Twin Bottle Arc

After convincing the Knights that Coco herself isn't a threat, Qifrey begins to suspect her
conjuring ink bottle may have been tampered with, and goes to visit the local magic stationer, Nolnoa, for answers. Upon uncovering the secret of the
twin bottle , Qifrey refuses to turn it over to the Knights, and instead tries to covertly track the Brimhats with it—just before Coco falls seriously ill!

Silver Sight Arc
Arc Info
Qifrey rushes a sick Coco to town for treatment and runs into the stationer's grandson,
Tartah . When Coco's condition seems to deteriorate while the adults are unavailable, Tartah attempts to use his herbology knowledge to treat her himself, but his
Silverwash Syndrome makes it impossible to identify the correct powder. Despite her weakened state, Coco manages to conceive of a
spell to accommodate Tartah's disability, allowing him to successfully treat her fever.

Second Pentagram Test Arc

Agott finally receives permission to attempt her second witch trial:
The Sincerity of the Shield . Fearing stagnation in his pupil, Qifrey also signs up Richeh for the trial. The two join their proctor,
Alaira , and an apprentice from another atelier,
Euini , for the test which quickly goes off the rails when the Brimhats attack. The group manages to make it out alive, but not without a grievous injury to Qifrey, and a
forbidden spell irreversibly cast on Euini.

Great Hall Arc
Arc Info
Olruggio leads everyone to the
Great Hall so that Qifrey can receive treatment for his injuries. While Qifrey recovers, his apprentices are offered a make up test by the
Wise in Teachings ,
Lord Beldaruit —they must find a way to surprise him with their magic! Olruggio leaves the girls to brainstorm while he completes a commission, and the girls ultimately rise to the challenge, earning all four the right to cast magic around Outsiders. Afterwards, Beldaruit tries to convince Coco to switch teachers, implying he can keep her safer than Qifrey. No longer knowing who to trust, Coco attempts to reach the
Tower of Tomes alone in hopes of gaining the knowledge to save her mother. When Qifrey awakens and discovers Coco missing, he rushes to save her from
the dangers surrounding the tower.

Silver Eve Prologue Arc
Arc Info
Qifrey's atelier begins preparations for the annual
Silver Eve festival, planning to assist Nolnoa and his grandson Tartah with their stationary stall. Tartah has come to befriend Custas, the Outsider boy Coco helped save. Just like Coco helped Tartah accommodate his Silverwash Syndrome, Tartah has been trying to help his new friend. Inspired, Coco lends her own assistance developing an improved
mobility aid for Custas. But Custas' joy is short-lived when his guardian is attacked by bandits.
