The Silver Eve Procession is a parade during Silver Eve for the exhibition of contraptions.
Description[edit | edit source]
Witches use the procession to demonstrate their contraptions in the hope that people will find them useful and the King will buy them for towns. Before a witch can participate in the procession, however, their contraption must pass an inspection by the Wise in Friendships.[1]
The parade is comprised of circular floating platforms that are drawn by eldroxen. It starts in the central plaza and loops around the main road. Each participant stands on a platform and demonstrates their contraption to the crowd.[2] All non-participants are given flags to hold up in support of contraptions they would want. This is to help show the King which contraptions are popular and should be bought.[3]
After the procession, all chosen contraptions are sold in a pavilion next to the shore behind the postern wall.[4]
