Magical Dyes are substances that can be mixed with conjuring ink to achieve various effects.

Powders and liquids, when added to conjuring ink, can achieve various effects.[1] These effects may be simply cosmetic, such as producing different colored inks, or the effects may be more practical in nature. For example, scales from the blushing bride butterfly can produce a transparent ink which allows seals to be hidden in plain sight.[2]
Moreover, the practical effects of magical dyes can be both direct or indirect. For example, roaming scallop shell powder mixed with ink prevents the ink from running when wet, thereby indirectly improving the durability of spells drawn with it.[2] Human blood, on the other hand, seems to directly augment the overall strength of even small, simple spells.[3][4]
Magical dyes can be prepared by any witch using components such as a pestle,[5] or they can be purchased ready-made for mixing or already pre-mixed with ink at a magical stationary shop, such as The Starry Sword in Kalhn.[1]
Some substances appear to be used as both magical dyes and for medical treatment, such as tranquileaf.[6] However, cross knowledge of magic and medicine is generally prohibited by Pointed Cap Witches since the Pact.[7][8]
