Mountain Apples are a type of shrub that bears fruit that can be eaten. Grows in the Zozah Peninsula, including in the Naakiwan Downs.
Description[edit | edit source]
It is a low, shrub-like tree which is able to take root in the small gaps of even the rockiest and most rugged terrain. The fruit it bears is tart like an apple, yet soft like a pear. As it ripens, its color typically turns from green to yellow. It also has a red fruit type which is poisonous and should be avoided.[1] The mountain apple contains a core that cannot be eaten, and so people can either eat around it or remove it via a knife.[2][3]
History[edit | edit source]
The mountain apple tree is first seen in during the twin bottle arc, during which Qifrey's apprentices use the grasping wind spell to try pluck the fruit from the tree.[4] Afterwards, Coco, Qifrey, and Richeh eat some apple slices while discussing The Pentacle of Proving tests.
While Qifrey's apprentices take the second Pentacle of Proving test at Cape Romonon, Utowin is seen eating a mountain apple during a string of discussions with his colleagues in the Knights Moralis.[5]
In Witch Hat Atelier Kitchen, Qifrey makes rose tarts for Olruggio by rolling mountain apple slices into strips of dough to create the appearance of rose petals.[6]
