 Independent Witch Hat Atelier Wiki

This is our grand list of stuff to do. There's a lot of it, ha ha... sob

Feel free to add entries, as well as cross stuff out as we go. Don't delete it, strikethrough the text so we can see that it has been completed.

  • Add images for Merchandise page/gallery of the WHA tie-in products and any related info.

Pages We Might Want to Add[edit source]

  • Components
    • (This would be the Magical Dye page, yes?)
    • This seems to be the word witches use for their tools—I suspect as a means of obfuscation around Outsiders and to differentiate them from non-magical tools. (Magical dyes are a type of component). I've recreated my entry from the old wiki, but consider renaming the Tools category to Components? --Gods of Luck (talk) 16:00, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
  • Mystical AKA Magical Ruins
    • Official name seems to be "Mystical Ruin" which is what I set up the entry as. Added redirects from "Magical Ruin" (singular) and "Magical Ruins" (plural) since I'm betting that is how people will more commonly reference it. --Gods of Luck (talk) 22:55, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
  • Golden Blaze Wyrm‎‎
    • I added this as a section to the Dragons page since there is no image and not much info available, but the kanji indicates it is a type of dragon (金焔). --Gods of Luck (talk) 15:06, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
  • Magic Spring
  • Glyphless Spells
  • Effectless Spells
  • History of Zozah
  • Roaming Scallop (see existing entry under Roaming Scallop Shells)
  • Blushing Bride
  • Azuremoon Flower‎‎
  • Disambig page for "Witch Hat Atelier" created here --Sharkcat (talk) 09:36, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
  • Glow Lamp
  • Unnamed Contraptions
  • Magic Stationer
  • Interviews or Q&A Page (Have Shirahama Q&As on here from events and interviews)(also maybe a list of big questions TO ask, for anyone who ever goes to an in-person event)
  • Events page for past Shirahama events & summaries of what happened/artwork she drew
  • Witch Hat Atelier Reproduction Selection. What it is, when it came out, the kind of info and artwork inside it.

Quick Start Guide[edit source]

For those who want a quick overview on how to get started editing the wiki:

  1. Create an account and login.
  2. Click the green Edit button on any pre-existing page to start filling in or editing info.
  3. There are two edit modes. You can toggle between them by clicking on the pencil button.
    • Visual: similar to editing a Word document (takes care of all the coding in the background)
    • Source: requires a little knowledge of wiki markup
      • Note: source is the only edit mode option on certain pages and on mobile!
  4. Be sure to add references as appropriate:
    • Visual: select Insert > Template > Ref (type it in the search), then check the boxes and enter:
      • 1 = m (manga) / k (kitchen spinoff) / a (anime)
      • 2 = chapter / episode number
      • 3 = page number (manga only)
    • Source mode: the usual code is {{Ref|1|2|2}}. Replace 1, 2, and 3 as above.
      • Not sure? Add a [citation needed] flag. Use Insert > Template > Cite or {{cite}}.
  5. When you go to Save...
    • You can optionally add a little summary of what you changed.
    • If you're only making a small edit (like changing a word or fixing some spelling), you can mark the minor edit checkbox.

Ready to Do More?

  • Upload images:
    1. First, try and search to make sure the images you want to add are not already uploaded.
    2. Then, in the top right hand corner, click on > Add New Image.
    3. Select your file, and if your file name isn't very descriptive, update it before clicking Upload.
  • Create a new page:
    1. Click on a red Wanted Page link, or click the Add button in the top right corner.
    2. In a separate browser tab, search existing pages or templates for a good example to work off.
    3. Copy and paste your example, and start editing!
      • If you aren't able to complete a page, or there isn't much info available, add the code {{Stub}} to the top of the source to flag it for further work.

Extra Tips

  • If you want a safe place to practice, try editing your own User Page or use your Sandbox. Both can be accessed under the top right dropdown.
  • When editing in source mode, keep clicking the Show preview button to make sure you're not messing anything up. Only click save when you're satisfied with how things look.
  • Use official translation terms whenever possible.
  • If you have questions or need more help, feel free to ask a question in our wiki editing Discord server ^_^
