Writing system[edit | edit source]

Chapter 45 hints at Zozah having its own writing system, losely based on Japanese, with each sign standing for a syllable. It seems to be written from right to left.[1]

Attempt to decipher some of the symbols seen in ch.45, assuming that the names are in order, and that Custas is writing facing towards him (and not towards the reader)

Music[edit | edit source]

Music in the series is also represented with unique symbols, although no music sheet proper is to be seen at the time of writing this article. Notes have a diamond or square shaped body that can be either black or white, to which a short vertical "tail" is added.[2][3] The "tail" sometimes end with a short straight hook. Between some notes are drawn horizontal lines from which also hang "tails" of the same length. The shape of the notes loosely resembles early European music notation of the baroque period (1580 - 1750)

Some musical notes seen throughout the series.
