The Marshwoods is an inhabited region of the Zozah Peninsula. It is situated east of the peninsula's central mountain range and west of the Naakiwan Downs.[1][2][3]
The Marshwoods appear to be named after the marshy forests, or "marshwoods," that fill much of the region. These marshwoods are largely dominated by conifer trees and are sometimes inhabited by creatures known as molewyrms.[4]
The Marshwoods is split into two portions, the Upstream Marshwoods and the Downstream Marshwoods.
Upstream Marshwoods[edit | edit source]
The Upstream Marshwoods is the northern region of the marshwoods.[5] This region likely serves as the northernmost part of the River of the Marshwoods' watershed, with all Streams and rivers within this region eventually flowing into the river.
Borders[edit | edit source]
The western and northern edges of the region lie at the foot of Zozah's central mountain range, with the northernmost extent of the region being just north of Qifrey's Atelier. Similarly, the southwestern edge of the region ends at the foot of a small mountain range.
The region's eastern edge is marked by the Naakiwan Downs, which begin just past the Staircase River. [6][5][3][2] Between the sparse hills of the Downs and the marshy conifer forests of the Marhswoods lies a narrow transitional zone dominated by deciduous forest.[7] It is not known which region this forest is a part of.
The southwestern edge of the Marshwoods likely lie at the point where the River of the Marshwoods meets another major river (likely the Staircase River).<ref name="vol1extra"> However, this is not known for certain, and the southwestern border may lie further south.

Little is known about the Downstream Marshwoods other than the fact that the River of the Marshwoods flows into the region. It likely stretches from the southern border of the upstream marshwoods all the way to the sea.
