Circular Floatforms or Silver Eve Platforms are large floating stages for witches to display their magic during the Silver Eve Procession.

Description[edit | edit source]

The platform is circular and flat on top to act as a stage for the witch to stand upon and display their magical contraption. The sides of the platform are decorated with ribbons and tassels. A long length of ribbon stretches down to the street where they are attached to Eldroxen to pull the contraption forward during the parade. The bottom of the platform has a stylized pointed shape attached that most likely hides the floating/levitating spell that keeps the platform in the air. These pointed shapes also come in various subtly-different designs.[1] The pointed shapes can also be removed, revealing that the platform is hollow inside.[2] When the platform is placed face-down, it no longer floats and can rest like a regular object.[2] The platforms require the strength of several people to move/turn it if it's not floating or shrunken with magic.[2]

During the Silver Eve Procession, witches who were to perform on these stages would access them through a portable Windowway. When it was their turn, they would leap through it to land on their particular stage.[3]

History[edit | edit source]

First seen on the day of the Silver Eve Procession as they were being set up,[1] then during the Procession itself, where many witches including Hiehart,[4] Olruggio, and Coco with Agott's help demonstrated their newest contraptions for the crowds and royalty to see.[5]

After the procession was interrupted by the Valance Leech (Monster) attack, the Circular Floatforms were later collected by witches and brought outside the city as part of Coco's plan (with the aid of Richeh, Agott, and Tetia) to create a city-wide Counterclock spell that targeted the monster. Witches would draw the spell on top of the platform where Outsiders would not be able to see it, then connect the platforms in a giant circle using their long lengths of ribbon to create one massive interconnected spell.[6]

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Perhaps inspired by these floating platforms, Olruggio made a similar but much smaller contraption called the Magic Floating Dish[unofficial name] that could be used to hold a drink or plate of food.[7]
