Chapter Thirty of the sixth volume of the Witch Hat Atelier manga series.

Summary[edit | edit source]

Luluci tells everyone their presence is required at the Great Hall, but Qifrey is in urgent need of medical assistance, so she offers to wait until he receives the necessary attention. As Qifrey faints, Luluci offers to take him to the Great Hall’s medical spire through the windowway. Olruggio makes her promise that the Knights Moralis will interrogate the girls in a civil manner or else they’ll leave. Luluci agrees, but warns them that their presence wasn’t requested by the Knights Moralis, but by one of the Three Wise: Beldaruit, the Wise of Teachings.

As Luluci leads them through the windowway, Ekoh and Etlan stay behind to look for more witches inside the cave. Agott is angry about not being able to finish the second test, and Coco compliments her by saying she her find the exit. The compliment seems to make Agott uncomfortable.

When they arrive at the Great Hall, Coco realizes it’s under the ocean. They are able to breathe thanks to a magic fog. Olruggio says it’s no wonder Qifrey didn’t tell her, as he doesn’t have fond memories of the place. At the medical spire, Qifrey is taken care of by two outsider doctors: Sinocia and Ermile. Coco asks why there are no witches that are doctors. Luluci explains explains are forbidden by law from learning medicine, since once upon a time a group of witches trained in healing magic experimented on humans to achieve feats such as immortality and resurrection. Due to this, the Day of the Pact magic practiced on people’s bodies was forbidden, and since then witches are not allowed to learn medicine.

Sinocia comes back with good news: Qifrey’s wound wasn’t too deep, and he will recover after some rest. Luluci tries to take Olruggio and the students before Beldaruit, but Sinocia insists everyone needs to rest, so they (including Luluci) spend the night at the medical spire.

The next day, Luluci takes everyone except Olruggio and the girls before Beldaruit by a bubble carriage. At the end of a long corridor there’s the Silver Garden, where the Wise Beldaruit awaits. The brushbuddy and Luluci stay in the corridor. Coco asks Olruigio what kind of person Beldaruit is. Olrugio answers tells her that he deviced many spells and taught many witches. He is great… as a witch, that is.
