Owlcats are an owl-cat hybrid.
Description[edit | edit source]
Owlcats are a breed of gryphon. They have a cat's body with the wings and face of an owl with white and copper colouring.[1] During winter owlcats get a fluffy coat.[2]
In the Volume 2 Artbook bonus, an owlcat is shown without wings. It's currently unclear whether this was an early design or a possible subspecies.
They hunt silently and eat a diet of fish, mice, and small birds.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
Owlcats have not been physically present within the manga aside from a representation of one in Chapter 47, and two appearing on the Chapter 49 cover.
Agott created a floating light in the shape of an owlcat's head.[2]
In a character illustration of Galga and Atwert posted for the release of Chapter 56, an owlcat is depicted with them.[3]
