Chapter Forty Nine of the ninth volume of the Witch Hat Atelier manga series.
Summary[edit | edit source]
Utowin is complaining about their workload when he sees Galga not in uniform. When questioned why, Galga says that hes finished his shift and is going off duty to enjoy the festival with his partner, Atwert. Luluci and Utowin discuss how other witches generally don't like the Knights Moralis. Luluci thinks this is preferable to people grovelling.
Two other Knights run towards them and exclaim that someone is selling illicit contraptions (contraptions where the magic isn't forbidden but still causes harm) and that Ekoh and Etlan are chasing after him. The criminal manages to escape but not before Etlan manages to flick some fruit juice onto him so they can track him with a guidance orb. Luluci catches up to them and takes over the situation.
The criminal is trying to erase the evidence of his wrongdoing and its revealed that his contraption is a pair of glasses that can see underneath people's clothing. Luluci arrests him and says that his memories will be erased but the criminal objects. Luluci shuts him down and says its usage is sexual assault.
The chapter flashes back to a younger Luluci and her friend Eryenne. They get to go work for a high profile client, a lord of that region's castle. They're both excited for the work experience but the client ends up sexually assaulting both of them. Luluci is going to go tell their professor when stops her leaving since she's stuck with the client in a room alone. Luluci ends up using magic to attack him. Once out of the situation, their professor says that the client claims they were making things up because they were overwhelmed. Luluci argues back and tries to defend herself and Eryenne but the professor doesn't care and says that the only issue is that they injured him. He gives her the ultimatum of either apologizing to the client or he'll take her to the Knights Moralis.
In the present, Luluci justifies her position. The criminal adjusts his spell to shred clothing but Luluci hits him on the head with her pennant staff before it can work properly. Easthies shows up and when the criminal tries to appeal to Easthies, he shuts him down.
In the flashback, the professor is telling Vinanna and Easthies about the situation while blaming Luluci for everything and asks that they erase her memory of the incident so she'll shut up about it. Easthies says that she isn't the problem in this situation and that he's the guilty one.
In the present again, the criminal says that if they erase his memory then they'll lose a lead: While testing out the glasses, he saw a man with a seal tattooed on his chest.
Dagda is walking through the crowd as Silver Eve trying to find Custas.
