Eating is the first bonus chapter and second extra in Volume 6 of the Witch Hat Atelier manga series.
Summary[edit | edit source]
Qifrey is cooking in the kitchen when Coco walks into the room. Seeing him cook, she asks if he is making cheese. After confirming her assumption, Qifrey then states that he is making the cheese to cook a snack, saying that it's the best time of year for the honey tree. Curious, Coco asks him what a honey tree is, to which he replies to cut open the swellings on a cutting of the plant sitting in the back of the room and find out for herself. Upon doing so, it is revealed that the hollow within the branch is filled with honey, much to Coco's delight. Qifrey then adds cheese mixed with milk and crushed walnuts to the inside of the branch, completing the dish, which is called Noki, which he and Coco then sample. The dish a success, Qifrey begins to walk off to share the snack with the rest of the apprentices to eat with some tea, upon which Coco stops him and says that he should stop using magic supplies like pestles and ink dishes as plates and cups.
