Chapter Forty Two of the Witch Hat Atelier manga series.
Summary[edit | edit source]
Coco meets Tartah in a field outside the Atelier and the two talk about how the passage starts mark the start of the harvest season so all the flowers and fruit are ripe. Tartah asks if theres a way to tell some things apart other than by sight as he wouldn't be able to tell which apple is poisonous by sight alone and Coco notes how it would be helpful to have multiple methods to do so. Tartah talks about how happy he is that he can work on becoming an apprentice and thanks Coco for turning it around for him. Coco disagrees and starts to say something but Tetia interrupts them to let them know that Qifrey has connected the Windowway to Kalhn.
Qifrey, Coco, and Tartah make their way through Kalhn to drop Tartah at his home. The three cross paths with the hospital and a Doctor is able to tell that Qifrey is a bit feverish and takes him away to refresh his medicine and bandages. Another doctor asks them to wait while they do so.
Tartah suggests that they go visit Nolnoa on the 2nd floor while they're there when Custas falls down a flight of stairs and is only just caught by the pair. Tartah makes sure he's okay and the three realise that they all konw each other. Custas thanks Coco for saving his life again. Tartah objects saying he helped too and the two banter. Coco asks how they know each other but a doctor interrupts and chastises Custas for almost getting injured. She carries him away but as she does so, Custas yells out that he and Tartah have been studying apothecary.
Coco asks why he would do such a thing as its illegal for witches to do so but Tartah defends himself that magic and medicine are already so similiar in that they are just different methods to help people, and that they go hand in hand. Tartah starts walking away but asks that she doesn't tell anyone else.
Qifrey rejoins Coco and asks if she's okay and if anything happened upon seeing her distracted. She says she's fine.
