Chapter Sixty Nine of the Witch Hat Atelier manga series.
Summary[edit | edit source]
Qifrey drops Engendale off at the castle to a healer and tells him to put Engendale in a cell and that there are injured that need medical attention. The healer asks if they should be evacuating or not but Qifrey says the castle is the safest place to be right now. Qifrey flies back to the place he fought Engendale and picks up a scroll from under the sand. He notes how it has been sealed with lockwax enhancing the effects of spells. Without it, Qifrey doesn't think he would have been able to capture Engendale. He wonders is Easthies knew all along and why, if he did, didn't he tell him. Qifrey picks up Coco from the ground and flies off.
Beldaruit is giving Deanreldy a ride to the medical spire on his sealchair. Deanreldy and Beldaruit enter the medical spire to everyone's enjoyment. Qifrey approaches Beldaruit with Coco in his arms, much to Beldaruit's concern.
Sinocia tends to Coco's injuries and reassures her that her eye wasn't damanged. Qifrey tells Beldaruit how he has covered the outer wall of the spire in a layer of salt. When Coco gets up, Qifrey tells her that she needs to rest. Coco shoots back saying she needs to go and find Custas. Qifrey yells and says that when she got injured, he was terrifed for her. Coco says she'll be careful next time which causes to become exasperated as there shouldn't be a next time.
Beldaruit enters the room and asks what going on. Qifrey asks him to look after Coco while he leaves the spire. Coco goes to get up again but Qifrey shoots her down and says she needs to protect herself first. Qifrey leaves.
Beldaruit tries to get Coco to understand why hes worried as hes been in Qifrey's position before, but he also emphasies with Coco about having her freedom restricted. Because of this, Beldaruit prompts her, asking, her how he spent in days in the Great Hall.
Qifrey is running thrown the town when he hears Coco's voice behind him. As he turns around to tell her to stay in the spire, he finds out that Coco has made her own smokesculpture with Beldaruit's help and that they can communicate through Beldaruit's palm window. Through Coco's reasoning, Qifrey understands her side and how she needs to be beside him to help Custas. The two set off together.
