Chapter Twenty-Seven of the fifth volume of the Witch Hat Atelier manga series.

Alaira grabs hold of Coco, just as the walls around them begin to sink into the ground. Qifrey spots a Brimcap in the distance, and begins chasing them on a horse made of water he conjured. After some convincing from Coco and Tetia, Alaira leaves the two girls to chase after Qifrey. Tetia and Coco hide under a sand tent in the meantime, but are soon discovered by a scaled wolf that had fallen from above them. Another scaled wolf interferes with the first before it can attack the girls, revealing itself as Agott using her Mirror Cloak. She explains to Coco and Tetia that Euini was transformed by Forbidden Magic.
Meanwhile, Qifrey had caught up to the disembodied brimcap and was fighting against them. He soon discovers their weakness, and floods the paths with water. The flood revealed that the disembodied hat and cloak were being controlled by the real Brimcap who stayed hidden farther along the road. The Brimcap's face was like a hairless cat's, but their body seemed mostly human. Qifrey then demands to know of any Brimcaps with the same eye as him, but he gets distracted by Alaira, who caught up to them. The brimcap escapes Qifrey, and reveals that their objective is for Coco to use Forbidden Magic, using Euini's curse as a motive. Back with Coco and the rest, Agott reveals the same information to the group.
