Chapter Fifty of the ninth volume of the Witch Hat Atelier manga series.
Summary[edit | edit source]
Easthies arrives at the Starry Sword tent and asks Qifrey if he has seen anything out of the ordinary. Qifrey says no and Easthies hands him a scroll bound with Lockwax in case that changes. Easthies starts to walk off but Qifrey asks if they're expecting a disturbance. Easthies says no and leaves.
Coco is excited to see the latest products of the Starry Sword, customisable pens. Mr. Nolnoa says that they're all Tartah's designs and the group praises him for his good work. Tartah gives Coco the custom pen he promised her.
Agott is yelling at Olruggio because he doesn't think that she should participate in the Silver Eve Procession. When asked for a reason, Olruggio argues that if she can't figure that out herself then she's only proving his point. He eventually relents and tells her that its because the procession isn't about drawing attention to yourself. Agott runs away.
Tetia hurries to get Coco to come and look at the crowd outside for her contraption (a modified version of the Wingcloak she and Tartah made). Since they're difficult to make, Coco only made a few for people to try out. Everyone is enjoying using them to fly and a young girl comes up to her to tell her this and asks if she can become a witch like her. Coco is reminded of how she felt the exact same way before she became a witch and feels guilty. The girl's parents come and take her away and Tartah takes Coco somewhere quiet.
Coco expresses how she feels bad that she couldn't tell the truth to that girl and that anything she said to her would've been a lie. Tartah reassures her by saying that it's not her fault, that they weren't the ones who made the laws, only had them forced upon them. They're interrupted by Custas standing on top a wall behind them. His legs are being supported by a wooden contraption.
