Summary[edit | edit source]
Coco tries to convince Luluci to not attack Custas by saying that he has the same purpose as them and that he only wants to use his magic to protect and help others. Coco uses a seal to blow the feather brim off his hat but this also causes her smokesculpture to blow away. Once Custas' brim is gone, Luluci realizes that she has been fighting a child the entire time. Dagda approaches her and asks for everyone to put down their weapons as no one will be able to talk to one another and learn the truth if everyone accuses the other of being evil. Dadga says that he just wants to talk with Custas and Luluci.
Beldaruit interrupts their conversations through the palm window and orders Luluci to restrain them as "a witch that deals in truth contradicts their own existence." Coco and Beldaruit get into a small fight over this. Beldaruit compares how dissimilar Coco and Custas are in their approaches to forbidden magic. He expresses concern in how if Custas violates the pact again it could create a ripple effect in the Pointed Cap community. Coco argues back saying how the forbidden magic he used did not break the pact because the Counterclock spell turns back both the body and the mind thus protecting the secret of magic. Because of this, Custas' usage of the spell could be considered within the parameters of the pact.
Jujy approaches Custas but Luluci goes to stop them before Dagda intervenes.
Beldaruit sends a flying paper note to Vinanna proposing a plan inspired by Coco's idea. Vinanna receives the letter and calls Beldaruit moronic.
