Chapter Thirty-Four of the sixth volume of the Witch Hat Atelier manga series.

Coco tells Agott she knows what kind of magic Wise Beldaruit wants to see. Agott tells her to keep the idea to herself so she can be the only one to pass the test, but Coco replies she isn’t skilled enough to execute an idea on her own. Richeh and Tetia arrive, and Tetia agrees with Coco that they should join forces so they can all pass the test together. Agott decides to use the test as an opportunity to satisfy a “client” instead of trying to prove herself and tells Coco that she will cooperate. After all, she promised Coco that she would teach her.
Later, at the medical spire, Sinocia wonders who do the girls take after as she watches them draw under the covers of their beds. Olruggio arrives and Coco asks for his help on a specific part of the spell she wants to draw. Olruggio notices her understanding of magic has improved: from not knowing what to do to not knowing how to fix a specific issue. Agott compliments Coco on her improvement aswell. Olruggio goes back to Qifrey’s room and says out loud that her students are growing as he sleeps, and that he’ll miss it if he doesn’t wake up soon. There’s another issue they need to discuss, and the outcome of their conversation will determine what Olruggio does moving forward. Beldaruit and Coco stay awake until late, both thinking that, for worse or for better, the test ends the next day.
The following day, noon passes by, and Beldaruit wonders where the girls are. Suddenly, a small pouch calls out to hims jumping about. Beldaruit follows the pouch down some stairs, and the alleyway stretches to accommodate his sealchair. As he follows the pouch, Beldaruit is joined by a few children. When they finally reach the end of the alleyway, they see water raining down from the ocean above. Coco appears, holding an umbrella that shows the clear sky when opened. She tells them that something witches living in the Great Hall rarely see are the falling raining and the shining sunlight at its end. Each of the girls cooperated in some way to achieve this miracle. A rainbow appears over each of the girls’ heads, below their umbrellas. They are surprised, as they weren’t expecting the rainbow to be visible.
This in particular makes Beldaruit laugh, as the girls managed to surprise not only their intended target, but themselves aswell, with a wonderfully crafted adventure. Due to this, he decides to attend personally, instead of as a smoke illusion, and announces they have all passed the second test. Before the girls can go tell Olruggio and Qifrey the good news, the parroting pouch Agott used to lure Beldaruit calls out for Coco. It tells her to meet Beldaruit at nightfall, alone and in secret.
